What billing or insurance information will I receive?

You may receive a copy of your bill. After your insurance has paid, we'll provide you with a monthly statement of your account.  Once you receive that statement, full payment is expected within 30 days.

How long will it take to get things settled with the insurance company?

Generally, it takes from 30 to 60 days to obtain payment from an insurance carrier.

Why am I getting bills from the physician's office?

Each time you bring your child to the office for ANY visit, a claim is generated and sent electronically to your insurance carrier.  Once the insurance processes the claim, they send an explanation of benefits (EOB) form to our billing office and yourself.  The EOB shows what the insurance company is paying in regards to an individual visit, as well as what your responsibility may be.  You will receive a bill from our billing service for your portion of a visit not covered by your insurance.

I received a notice that my insurance company has paid on my bill -- but I can't understand how they calculated their payment amount. Do you know?

As stated above, your insurance carrier will process the claim and make a determination of payment based on your individual plan.  However, for answers to any questions about insurance payments, deductibles, or co-payments, you generally need to check with your insurance company, or health administrator.

PAYMENT POLICY

Medical services are provided and billed by Pediatric & Adolescent Center, SC. Our providers participate in most of the major health insurance plans in the region. To the left are the health plans which we currently accept.  As the plans we participate in are constantly changing, please call the office or your insurance company to see if your plan is accepted.

Please be aware that with any health plan, there may be deductibles and copayments for which you could be responsible.  Copayments are expected to be paid at the time of service.  Once a claim is filed and the insurance plan has made their payment, any remaining payment is the responsibility of the guardian of the patient.
